(Hillary and Huma, AP)

• The Palestinian Authority is reportedly gearing up to appeal to the United Nations for statehood again, a divisive symbolic gesture that will inevitably be vetoed. [INN]

• Haaretz is reporting that a detention compound being built in the south of Israel for African immigrants will be able to hold 30,000 people instead of 12,400, the original number the Interior Ministry cited. [Haaretz]

• The IDF suspended eight soldiers in the Kfir Brigade on suspicion of hazing after a young recruit was hospitalized. [Times of Israel]

• In the aftermath of the scandal in which Representative Michele Bachmann accused Huma Abedin–Hillary Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff at the State Department and wife to Anthony Weiner–of having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, a report by The Forward studies the underrepresentation of Muslim Americans in the U.S. government. [The Forward]

• Randy Lerner has sold the Cleveland Browns, bringing the total number of Jewish-owned NFL teams to 9.5 or 10.5, according to sports oracle Marc Tracy. [JTA]

After Palestine gets into the U.N. with it’s capital in East Jerusalem, I propose we invite His Holiness, The Pope, to sign a 99-year lease to relocate there. Iran would never bomb the pope. The Palestinians could all get jobs and all parties could benefit from tourism. I defy anyone to tell me why this is not a good idea!

PhillipNagle says:

It certainly is frightening that someone with the close family ties Huma has to the Muslim Brotherhood also has Hillary’s ear.

AriShavit says:

go away mccarthy.

PhillipNagle says:

The charges against Huma’s family were very specific. But you knew that so rather than answering the charges you call names. Typical liberal.

AriShavit says:

I couldn’t care less what her family is rumored/accused of doing. This is America. No one here is responsible for the crimes/misdeeds of their family members. Offer proof that she has committed treason or retreat back to your hole.

PhillipNagle says:

No one has accused of her treason. But you knew that but being the liar you are you put that in. The quetion put, is someone with such close family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood a security risk? The second question is, how does having an aide with such such close family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood reflect on the Obama/Clinton foreign policy? Two questions you don’t want asked or answered.

AriShavit says:

You’re suggesting she’s not loyal to this country because of some half-hearted nefarious connections (i.e. you are suggesting she’s capable of (or has committed) treason – why else would it be a security risk?). Show me that she personally holds views considered subversive to this country or has said/done anything that may allow a reasonable question as to her integrity or loyalty.

Jews are supposed to be better than this bigoted nonsense …

PhillipNagle says:

I don’t know about you, but I certainly don’t consider a mother, “some half-hearted nefarious connection”. Like the inquiring congressmen I do think there is cause for review. Of course you seem to think that everyone (including congressmen) should shut up and accept what the government says without question. I wonder if you fett that way when Bush was president. I certainly didn’t.
