• Two men and a woman, who was pregnant, were killed when a Hamas rocket struck a residential building in Kiryat Malachi. [Times of Israel]

• Over 200 rockets fired from Gaza by various Palestinian terrorist groups battered southern Israel on Thursday. According to reports, the Israeli Air Force took aim at over 200 targets in Gaza, including rocket launchers and terrorist cells. [JPost]

• Washington reaffirmed its support for Israel on Wednesday. The State Department condemned Hamas for firing rockets on Israel and, in phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Barack Obama reiterated that Israel has the right to defend itself. [AP]

• An Israeli soldier near the Syrian border was struck and lightly wounded by a bullet this morning. [JTA]

• Israeli negotiator Gershon Baskin, who assisted in securing the release of Gilad Shalit, said that the killing of Hamas leader Ahmed Jabari took place amid talks of a long-term truce deal with Israel. [Haaretz]

Israel’s retaliation should be massive, these surgical strikes aren’t cutting it. No matter what Israel does, they will get condemned for, so they might as well earn the condemnation.
