Last month, Rachel Shteir reported in Tablet Magazine that the century-old Chicago building formerly home to Anshe Kanesses, a prominent and gorgeous Russian Jewish synagogue that at various times hosted Martin Luther King, Jr., and Golda Meir, was to be torn down.
