‘Midrash Manicures’ Are Shtetl Rivalry Fodder

Everybody see the Times story on “Midrash Manicures”? So great: Rabbi Yael Buechler teaches middle school girls how to parse Torah parshot and then paint tiny, multicolor images inspired by them on their fingernails. It makes you jealous, as a fellow daily magazine of Jewish life and culture. And then you remember that Joshua J. Friedman profiled Buechler and Midrash Manicures for Tablet Magazine two years ago. There, that feels better.
