The village of Bloomingburg and the town of Mamakating will pay $2.9 million in damages to a developer for their alleged efforts to block the settlement of Hasidim in the area

The change comes as part of a larger settlement between the Sullivan County Board of Elections and a group of Hasidic residents of Bloomingburg, who had alleged discrimination and voter disenfranchisement
