Learning to ‘Cook Like a Jew’
Producer Quinn Waller is supplementing her conversion course with a crash course in Jewish cooking—and bringing listeners along for the ride

One of our producers, Quinn Waller, is currently converting to Judaism. “I’ve got a rabbi for my religious questions,” she says, “but there’s a lot about being Jewish that you can’t learn in a classroom or at shul.” It didn’t take her long to discover that one of the most important cultural components of Judaism is food—eating it, arguing about it, and of course, making it.
So Quinn decided to embark on a journey to learn how to make the most important Jewish recipes, with the help of some friends. Join her for ‘Cook Like a Jew,’ a recurring series on Unorthodox.
Episode 1: Chicken Soup
Quinn starts her journey with a classic Jewish dish and some help from our director of production, Josh Kross.
Episode 2: Hummus
Quinn rises to the chickpea challenge with Unorthodox and Take One host Liel Leibovitz.
