• Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries overthrew his David Dukes-endorsed opponent Councilman Charles Barron in the primary for Democratic nomination to congress. It wasn’t even close: 72 percent to 28 percent. [Washington Post]
• Grace Meng defeated Rory Lancman in the Democratic primary to replace the retiring Gary Ackerman in congress, meaning that there will be one less Jewish representative in congress—but on the bright side, New York’s first Asian-American representative! [DNA Info]
