In 1911, Irving Berlin composed a song that some argue is the very best the 20th century has to offer:
In all likelihood, he wrote that song, or at the very least banged it out on the piano a few times, on the very Manhattan block where Tablet Magazine’s offices now sit. Yes, we are coming to you from what was known as Tin Pan Alley from the 1890s to about 1915. We’re are pretty excited about this, and decided to invited New York City walking tour guide Jim Mackin to meet us on the street, and tell us more about it.
